Sewing Projects

I have been wanting to make a baby blanket for so long for my sister-in-law, Jamie, and since I was already in the "sewing mode" I made a few other things. I went with the whole yellow and gray theme. (love these colors)

I created my own little fabric tags

I made my own chevron fabric out of stripe fabric. I couldn't find any soft minky fabric with chevron print already, so I created my own! A little bit of a headache at first, but once I figured it out it was a breeze!

I made this cute yellow and gray diaper clutch, super easy:

Another fabric tag I created

Sewed some fabric to the center of some burp cloths. Simple and easy way of sprucing these up a bit!

Found this adorable chevron sleeper on clearance at Old Navy, had to get it!

And I wrapped it up in this :)

I had so much fun doing this! I've learned that I LOVE to sew :)

Fun Trip to Utah

We went to Utah a couple of weekends ago it was so much fun to see family and friends! We were excited that we got to see my brother Blake, since he lives up in Salt Lake we decided we'd take advantage of our time up there and check out the new City Creek Mall, WOW can you say amazing? It was so much fun, I could spend days there! We walked around the temple grounds, it is so beautiful this time of year with all the beautiful flowers.

Me & my brother Blake. Love him so much!

Me & my sweet boy.

I was so excited we picked a perfect weekend to be there because it was my sister-in-laws baby shower. She looks absolutely adorable! She's due the first part of July and we can't wait to meet their cute little guy!

I have been wanting to make Jamie a baby blanket for SO long it seems, so I finally made my first attempt at a baby blanket, and well since I was already on the sewing kick I decided to do a few more things. :)

The only thing I can't claim is the cute chevron sleeper. Isn't it adorable?

I'll post more pictures of what I made later.

We also got to see Shelby and Trygve! We went to The Chocolate on State St. in Orem...WOW, they have some dang good pizookies. :) Mmm. I wished we would have taken a picture, but instead we can just drool over this amazing looking pizookie!

All in all, it was an amazing trip!

Isn't Fall Beautiful?

I just love this time of year with Thanksgiving right around the corner and all of the beautiful colors. I'm so excited for the holidays to be with the family. It's our favorite time of year! I took this picture a while back in Utah up Rock Canyon. I couldn't get enough of all the gorgeous colors.

Kitchen Table Makeover

For months now I've been wanting to re-do my kitchen table. I've been thinking that it looks a little boring.. So this past week I decided that I'd finally give it a makeover. I love the idea of a two-toned look (dark wood and white). So with that being said, that was what I modeled my table after. :) Here's an idea of what I found online while I was searching for ideas..

I literally searched, searched, and searched some more on how to sand your table correctly, what stain to use, the brushes, the paint, all of that! It actually took me about a week to FINALLY finish the project, it's a lot harder than it looks!

I know what you're thinking.."umm, it doesn't look very good" but for this table not having TOO much character I think it turned out pretty decent for my first real 'refurbished' project. & the apartment floors really don't help the table out too much ;)

The chairs weren't the most fun part, only because painting in between all the spindles were a pain! Each chair took about three coats to paint. Reupholstering the seat cushions were super simple and I decided on the fun fabric because I thought it'd give it a little more character while still being very neutral. Overall, I'm pretty happy with the turnout.

Yay, for FALL!

My mom and dad came out to visit us this past weekend, and it was SO much fun! It was only for a couple of days, but I'll take whatever time I can get. My mom took me shopping (of course) for all of my cute fall stuff. I was soo happy to have her here to help me decorate, she's the best! Because it was such a quick trip for them and it was conference weekend, we didn't get to do too much. But next time they come out we'll make sure to take them to some fun places. They got here late Friday night. Saturday me and mom went shopping during the day and then Saturday evening we went to Maggiano's and YUM that was amazing. The boys then hurried off to priesthood while me and mom went and shopped some more. :) The next day was Sunday :( and they had to leave that night. But we enjoyed having them for every minute we could. Here are some pictures of my cute fall things we put together.

Our Story Began..

October 3rd 2009, yes, on my birthday. :) Me & the girls decided to go crash a "belmont" party since we had nothing else to do...little did I know that night I would be meeting my future husband! Here we are takin' some pics before the party (of course!) ha.
So Greg introduced himself to me that night (he said he was waiting forever because I was always talking to someone, but he just HAD to meet me. I thought that was so cute) He of course got my number and said we'd have to hang out when he was back in town. (at the time he was in dental school at USC) From there we started texting and talking on the phone constantly. He made trips up to Utah quite frequently which made it especially nice! He graduated in May 2010, and moved back to Utah. Yay...we finally were able to date like a normal couple. :) From there everything else was history! We dated and March 26th 2011 he proposed! Happiest day ever..
 Doesn't it look amazing?
I was SO excited! I wasn't even expecting it. He was already living in Texas and I had no clue he was even coming up that weekend..I thought it was the next week.
He did an amazing job.
